serpentine belt change/water pump

#1

Post by cob »

Morning friends. Going to get new serpentine belt/water pump and I wonder, should I put on a new supercharger belt too. Can the latter be put on without the headache of the Crank bolt difficulty. Thanks in advance. Veh has 77,000 miles, low I know but it's 18 years old hence my decision to change belt( waterpump too) hoping to save the issue of doing that bolt again. Found a sealer for 325 labor for all

Well, I have a few questions.

1) Supercharger belt?
2) Stock 1976 GL1000 or have you obtained a hotrod project?
3) 18 years old? A '76 GL?

Crank pulley bolt comes right off with a quick application of an impact wrench.
Crank bolt does not need to come off to do the "timing belt(s)".
I'm not even sure that bolt would need to come out even if there actually is a SC on that thing.
