This was my first experience of a self driven vehicle when I was about 7 years old.
Not this exact one, but a similar one my dad bought new in 1950. It was the TVO version.

A few years ago I did a job in Minnesota and I met a guy in a bar that had a bunch of tractors.
Called to his place and got me a drive on this. Had never driven a tractor before with the gearbox crossways.
Liam, I was about the same age as you when I got to drive a Ford 2N like the one below. I can remember being about 8 years old when I pulled a 8' wide culipacker (heavy serrated roller) behind my Dad while he was spring plowing in an attempt to crush the heavy clay clods produced by the plow. It was the first time I remember being allowed free reign with a tractor doing actual work with it.

I didn't take too long before I graduated to the Oliver Super 88 Diesel that was my Dad's main tractor.

Although during most of its working life it looked more like this.

Awesome. If I had a little more room and time I might have to have one or two.

I grew up on old Two cylinder John Deere’s, and I had a hard time driving something that had a foot clutch!
