Though I'm riding more regular as I should be in the climate I live in, I'm literally afraid of long trips on my MCs beyond a few hundred miles. Yes you may aptly call me a wimp and a coward. Maybe, if I succeed with my new healthy eating life style I may end up tempted though. Already lost 40 lbs and dropping.
Feel great too. I admire all you fellows pluck and determination. Have fun planning and executing your plans.
Over a year away. you got plenty of time and it would give you a goal to work toward.

WF, you are absolutely correct as usual my friend.
I've been riding most day lately and find my confidence is gaining. Still see a lot of crazy drivers though.
Thanks, you made my day....consider the possibilities. Yes it would be awesome to meet the lot of you.

Just took a look at the map and it's just shy of 1,200 for me. I'm going to have to harden up to do it. Plus, need to put more miles on my baby. It's way more comfortable to ride than my scout. Just thinking about it make my rear end throb.
I'm thinking about it, it would be quite an under taking for a chicken like me.
Would prefer to keep what I carry, minimal. Don't have bags or paniers, but that don't mean I can't get some. I'm intrigued.
Less than three hours for me (well, maybe more because I will avoid I-75 if possible). By then I hope to have a GL1000 that I trust for the trip. If not, it will be the GL1800.
