New paint time!

#1

Post by ob1quixote »

Saw a color the other day, liked it a lot!

Never was a big fan of the pleather faux tank door, so I bought a spare and stripped the material and emblem. Filled in the emblem and working out the transition to the lock.

Well, without giving away the make and paint code...a red with fine grain metallic and a high amount of flop.
Flop is a painters term for how a color changes based on the angle of the light. This one flops almost black!

Nice progress.

One question, why the trunk bag and not saddlebags?

Makes throwing one legs over the seat harder with a trunk bag but many others use a trunk bag when the saddlebags are full.

Trunk can come off after removing 4 bolts, but I leave it on.
I have over the saddle bags for travel.

Trunk is easy to get on the bike with, but when I slide the old Arthur Fulmer back rest forward to the pilot position, getting on requires stepping up on the footpeg and fully raising my foot at the knee.
