Brake pads wear

#1

Post by andorragl »

Today it was time to change the tires, when checking the brake pads I saw that those on the left side were completely worn but those on the right caliper had very little wear, even the pad on the piston side was much less worn than the one on the opposite side. Has anyone ever had this problem?

With both pads not wearing like the other side, check to see if the piston moves freely and the caliper floats (moves) too. Possible brake line troubles reducing flow to that side...check the junction on the forks were the junction is too.

Likely sticky guides as Oldwing suggested. Common trouble after sitting for a spell. These bikes were not designed to sit, go figure. They run too nice to subject them to sitting abuse.
