Heat shields? You might get away with it. But that much money on a "maybe" makes me wary.
Unless you're dead set on a certain color (and maybe not even then), check out ceramic coating. It's guaranteed to hold up, and would be priced similar to PC. I just had my exhaust done and I love it.

Re: power coating exhaust
Ceramic is the way to go ! Virtually the same cost but if you have coated inside and out it will keep things from rusting as well. Plus it’ll give you whiter teeth and a better sex life !
I always have exhaust ceramic coated anymore. Just a better way !

Re: power coating exhaust
All it will cost me is the price of the powder. I have the gear to prep and apply it. I'm just getting into it and looking for things to bake. lol
The exhaust is in excellent condition and I just got the new slip ons.
I'm not a fan of chrome but love black chrome.
That is the colour of the powder I have coming. I don't think it would last on the head pipes although you bake it at 400 degree's to cure it.
There are 4 heat shields on the head pipes that obviously don't get hot that I want to powder coat. The rest of the system will get scuffed with sand paper and hit with flat black header paint except for the tips of the mufflers. They are a separate piece on the system.
It's the peace maker system from National Cycle. It has cable/electric operated cutouts in the muffler. You can be quiet or loud.

Re: power coating exhaust
In that case I say go for it.
If you don't have that much $$$ into it, you're not out much of it doesn't work out. Good luck!

Re: power coating exhaust
tks. I took a better look at the pipes and the heat shield I want to powder coat is bolted to the heat shield that follows the shape of the head pipes so I should be able to remove them to powder coat.Lucien Harpress wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 12:38 pm In that case I say go for it.
