My GL1100 is leaking gas from carb #2 like a sieve when running. Bowl gasket, float, bowl screws, etc., have all been checked or replaced as necessary. After looking at it more closely, I think it's coming from the inlet tube that goes between carbs on that side, but it's really hard to tell. The O-rings look OK on both ends, but I don't remember if I replaced them at any point in the past. I did notice that where the tube sits in #2 looks like it has been drilled out. I know I didn't do it, did somebody screw with this in the past, or is it supposed to be like this? It's leaking so badly that there's no way I wouldn't have noticed it since I've had the bike, so I don't know what the heck is going on here.
EDIT: I just went out to clean up and was fiddling with the tube...it fits snugly in the hole on #4, but is very loose on #2, no matter which end I try. Maybe a new/bigger O-ring? But that still leaves the question of if that inlet port is supposed to be the way that it is.

Re: carb leaking at inlet tube [gl1100]
I just remembered that this may be a carb rack off of an '82...I posted something quite a while back about unscrewing the slow jets when I was cleaning everything and somebody pointed out that wasn't a thing on the '80. I tried to look up the tube & O-rings that I referred to and couldn't find them on the '80, but lo and behold they're on the '82. The tube is "JOINT SET A, FUEL 16027-463-004" and the O-rings are just listed as part of a master set. So probably the gasket kit that I bought from Randakk's when I assumed it was an '80 didn't have new O-rings.

Re: carb leaking at inlet tube [gl1100]
The part number you reference does fit all GL1100's, 80-83. All of the 1100 carbs have the fuel joints between the cabs, 1-3 and 2-4. All of the Randakk rebuild kits for the 1100 have the same parts. Not year specific.

Re: carb leaking at inlet tube [gl1100]
Thanks for clarifying that. Maybe they updated the fiche at some point, because I couldn't find the tube on the '80 version. Anyway, do you know if replacement O-rings are available? Does the inlet on #2 look OK?

has the O rings.
they call them fuel crossover O rings small one is 2.8 X 1.3 mm #4617
large one is 5.8 X 1.9 mm #4622
Also make sure that the carburetor to plenum (main fuel) "U" rings are in good shape, or new. They have a radiused edge on one side and flat on the other. Flat side to the carb body, and are only used on carbs 2 and 3.

Use Viton rubber wherever you can in the fuel system since Viton is resistant to the alcohol in todays fuels. It’s not always available but is definitely the way to go if you can. That’s one of the major attractions of the Randakk products. My.02

Re: carb leaking at inlet tube [gl1100]
Definitely. I replaced all of the internal seals and gaskets (including the U-rings mentioned above) with Viton from Randakk's that I bought as individual pieces, but they don't sell the crossover O-rings individually as far as I can tell and I'm not buying a $200+ kit for them.
EDIT: I stand corrected, they are available individually from Randakk's:
