Re: 175 Project
The new exhausts are lager diameter than stock, and the kick stand was hiding underneath. Ended up turning down the hex on a 1/2” bolt and welding onto the kick stand.

Re: 175 Project
Thanks
Decided to change the handlebars. The ones I had on the bike were looking too much like drag bars. Routing the cables was a challenge too. Had a set of CB400F bars. They’re about 2” wider and has a more comfortable position. The 400F perch is a bit wider, but should work.
Rolled the bike off the lift to check for throttle cable binding (lock to lock).

Re: 175 Project
Finished the wiring. Used an aftermarket harness. Some of the wire colors weren’t right, but was able to trace them down. The OEM turn signals use a single element bulb (#1156). The aftermarket ones I went with gives an option for dual element (#1157). Chose to put duals in the front and keep with the singles in the back. Wired in the front, so the dimmer element came on when the headlights were on. Might go with LED bulbs?
Need to clean up the headlight bezel and somehow finagle the wiring hornets nest to attach the headlight.
CB400F handlebars, note that part of knurled portion sticks out. Ended up prick punching the bars where they mounted onto the top of the triple tree.
On the 175’s and some other models; Honda used a “washer, grounding”. The rear turn signals are rubber mounted, and normally the wires are just laying there. Always thought that was odd. Keep reminding myself this was not their flagship model.

Re: 175 Project
To tame the wires in the headlight bucket, I've used hot glue globs to hold portions of the harness out of the way for installation of the lamp.

Re: 175 Project
I usually warm the wires/harnesses and then try to position them so there’s clearance. Your suggestion is one I’ll need to consider, Thanks!

Re: 175 Project
Looks great Ray. I am familiar with the signals you used and they work well. The CB400 F bars look fine since the knurled area is barely visible on the bike.
Did you reface the gauges, or find NOS as a nice touch for the “Jewellery”? The Cappellini oil cooler and exhaust flanges look just right on that motor too.

Re: 175 Project
Thanks. The speedo & tach are NOS. I’ve had them for a while. You can buy aftermarket ones, but the vintage feel would be lost.
Thanks again for your interest & comments.
