This photo was ( reportedly ) taken mid 1960s near Caesar Swamp, Salemburg, North Carolina. The young man sitting on the black motorcycle is my cousin Wayne.( The photo didn't do him justice, ) He passed away earlier this year. ALS took him...
Wayne's younger sister had posted this photo on FB. She reckoned his age was 16-17 years old when the photo was snapped.
Identify these motorcycles, please. Thanks

The white one looks like a Honda 150 Dream model. It could be a 160 Dream or a 300 dream too, because they all look the same . I can't tell anything about the black one.

I think the bike on the left is a Honda Dream CA72 250 0r CA77 305
Bike on the right more difficult, but from the tank shape, front brake and forks I'd guess a CB72 or CB77
Both from early 60s

Re: These 2 buddies were riding what make and model bikes?
Cliff- Our family had a very early white 150 Dream (a 1963 if I recall). Then we got a CT90 and these bikes were the ones I started riding from an early age. New Mexico issued drivers license for these small bikes at age 13 back then. We had 10 acers in the country, so I started riding at age 8 or so. We had paths all over our pastures and we rode these constantly. In Junior High, I had a 175 Dream, but would have preferred the CB175 model.

Cedric - your personal recollection of involvement with motorcycles, starting at a very young age, is very interesting
I happened to scroll down to SIMILAR TOPICS and spotted this one that desertrefugee had started December 28th, 2014. Great photos of bikes and their personal stories from long ago.

The most obvious at-a-glance difference between the small Dreams and the larger ones is that the ignition is on the left on the smaller ones, and the right on the larger ones. You can see the cover on the white one. All the unique features on the black one are obscured, but the tank and forks resemble a Super Hawk.
