external alt.on a 1200

Ifinished the install of an external alt. on my 1200 today. Was nice to see the volt meter move again. And it fits completly hidden by the fairing. bonus!

I've done several of these upgrades over the years. I've always used the "Poorboy" kit. You'll love the reliability, and no more worries. Enjoy!

I've had one on my 78 for about 20 years. Not a fan of the poorboy kit. To large an alt. I use smaller ones that are easier to hide. You are right. The reliability is a real asset.

Going slow. Next problem is radiator clearence so it also clears the front fender. But I have skills......it will work :lol: :lol:
