The infamous tab fixes on side covers

I know this topic has been overworked historically, but I will share my method of fixing my covers. I didn't want to use glue, but wanted to mechanically attach. I went to Lowes and bought a light weight aluminum angle 1" x 1" x 1/16". x 3 foot long. It was like 8 bucks. I cut a piece that would resemble the tabs and attached two fasteners. Yeah, I know that is exposed, but not too many options. It did work.
