Gl1200

Hi am new to to this club.
I have a gl1200 1985 aspencade that I am trying to get back on the road.
Have come across a problem that has been discussed before so forgive me if I am on an old subject.
I have a ignition pulse generator that is bad.
Searched everywhere for a used set but no joy so far.
Has anyone got a good one to spare please.
If not has anyone done the gl1500 swop that can help me with what mods are needed and if I need two of them.
It also seems that the gl1500 ones are hard to source.
I live in south africa so there are not many used parts available. There are only 5 or 6 gl1200 in the country .
I would appreciate any guidance

Welcome to the world of vintage GWs. You need two PG sensors for the '85 carb 1200. The 1500 PG sensor (need two) should work - careful that the wiring is correct. I mention this because the 1500 PG sensor works on the '85/'86 1200 GW FI Models, and so does the PG sensor harness from an '85 to '87 1200 carb model, have used these.
