Gl1000 steering head nut

#1

Post by dartman1962 »

Gent’s
Does anyone know the size of the steering head nut, as in thread diameter & pitch?

I have just changed the steering head bearings with all original OEM Honda races, ball bearings,
I forgot to check the sizes, when off & don’t want to struggle with that nut again!

I am looking to see if any of the chrome acorn type nuts of possibly off a CB 750 / 900 will fit?
as the bearings & races fit various CB models.

See attached picture.

Yeah, that’s the original one, I don’t want to put that one on, that’s why I’m looking for a regular chrome cap nut.

Thanks jimbonaut,
I’m up in Canada. I can order one, just tell me if it’s M24 x what the thread pitch is?
I appreciate the offer.

I measured the internal diameter of the nut, 23mm, thread pitch is 1mm.

I'm in Canada too, more than happy to send this to you if it's what you're after
