I own a naked 1978 GL1000. I love this bike. It currently has stock bars. I would like to replace these with some lower drag type bars. Nothing to dramtic, just a slightly sporter look. Does any one have any suggestions. Will I need to replace the cables with shorter ones. How and where do I find these. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't recommend drag bars. But that's just me.

I put some flat track bars on my 77. They are more forward, and nice and wide for great leverage and look pretty cool, I think.

The ones I got, where sold out of a Tucker/Rocky catalog and where #10 flat track bars. If they don't have them still. try ask if they have an older Tucker/Rocky catalog and find the dimensions.

Trust me, you'll love'em.

It totally changed the way my bike felt when aggressively cornering. I've put 125,000 on that bike alone and I love them, and I will be getting a set for the 1200 std also, soon.
