Stu Oltman Passes

Post by Whiskerfish »

Stu Oltman passed away on Monday 26 December. He was a member here (stu_o) but did not post a lot. His "fame" is from his position as the Tech Editor of Wing World Magazine. His knowledge and personal touch were unparalleled, I am guessing he had that job close to 20 years. I know when I would visit my Fathers house I always read the latest issues of Stu's column before looking at the rest of the magazine. He shared his knowledge with millions over the years.

RIP Stu

I met Stu a couple of times, he was very humble and had a straight forward way of diagnosis for any problem, he was willing to go above and beyond to help people repair their Goldwings. He will be missed, my sympathy to his friends and family on their loss. RIP Stu.

I only met him once. I can not remember which event it was but meeting him I do remember. A genuinely nice guy, unlike many "experts" he did not let his expertise/ reputation go to his head. I would often chuckle when reading his Tech column in WW Mag when you could see his personality come through.
