What did you decide on the rear master and caliper? I stick with stock as that has always looked like lots of fab to change anything but others that have done it seem to have found little mod required with the right parts. Be interesting to see how you move forward.

last weekend I got back to putting the 78 together. I think I have put on and taken off the shelter frame at least a dozen time.... urggggg

driving back and forth from SE NC over the past several months and now "home for good" I am finally back to work. Put the engine in the frame of the 77 and added parts onto the 78 (and it is now on the center stand. Needing to do to EBAY for all sorts of rubber parts no longer available. Had to but a radiator shroud just to get the 4 fine thread 10mm bolts. Pictures tomorrow as we have guests right now.

some pictures. Decided that putting the throttle cables on the 77 now will be a LOT easier than later. Went on RANDAKKS site and $200 later lots of parts... Had to buy a fan switch on fleabay. I think the speedo tach came out well for the 78

note to self.... just remove nearly everything the next time you need to reattach the throttle cables... it makes the job easier

as I said, it is easier to take everything off, then the job is simple..... why didn't I think of this before

so I have been slowly putzing with the 77. The front lester wheel looked like crap, so I painted it, the rear was NOS although I did replace the bearings some years back. Painted the rotors was well. New black paint on the speedo/tach and the chrome polished.

It is odd when you look through the Pile O'parts. I have three sets of 78/9 forks and two 75-77 (one of which has bad rust on the sliders). Also, every time I think I cannot find something and order a part, sure enough the next day I find it. I also have a decent 78/9 front fender so it will go on the bike

Progress looks great, but since it is now riding season: things may slow down when you are seldom off the bike.
