I have a spare seat for my GL1100 that I'm having reworked (by a professional) into something more minimalist, like this from the Jan'25 BOTM. Is the owner still on here or can someone point me to a thread describing the seat mods?
The current plan is to rework the seat with the stock base and just get as close to the rear plastic hump as possible, but I'd be open to some clever cutting of the base.
Thanks for any forum guides.
Anyone modified the seat base on GL1100?

Re: Anyone modified the seat base on GL1100?
I haven't modified a seat base yet, but have ciphered on it. The base is some type of plastic/ nylon, which is easily cut with a jigsaw or hacksaw. I 'think' the rear bump could be easily removed to flatten out the back without weakening the base. It would leave a bit of a hole, but that could easily be covered.
The vinyl is stapled, so just about any shape would probably work...

Re: Anyone modified the seat base on GL1100?
UPDATE - Here's the modified seat, done by Dianna in Asheville (https://diannasshop.com/) Dianna has helped with multiple projects now and always delivers a good solution to my crazy ideas.
In this case, I wanted to slide back and little and reduce the King&Queen aspect without modifying the base. Interestingly, it looks longer then the original seat, even though it's not.

Very nice work! Just curious, how much did that cost?
