I will say, my Standard 1200 was the best bike I owned until I bought my Valkyrie, and even then the Goldwing has it beat on fuel milage. Wishing you the best of luck, however it turns out!

Once I get her down here I will start a refresh thread. I helped Liam with his 1200 but unfortunately most of that knowledge left my pea brain since then. I will need help on a number of subjects.

I would be interested in a lot of the small parts. Maybe make the decision easier for you.
Stuff like carbs, Mufflers, Headlight and wiring loom bits etc

When you rebuild the brakes … check the length of the spring in the aftermarket kit …

Unfortunately most of that stuff was either junk or missing. There was one Headlight bucket but no rings. The one muffler that was there had connector ends rotted off. The other bike came without a muffler. The first set of headers I removed had a swell inside so I am sure that bike did not run well.

The second 77 was mostly a bust. the engine was locked. I did salvage front and back Lesters and a few other items but most was just junk. So the shop is cleaned out and ready for a new victim.
