Another CX 650E EUROSPORT

for those of you that have M.B.S. (multiple bike syndrome) and have the "silver wing" models.
as our sponsors also have supplies for those bikes and they are popular with the "wing" crowd.

Bought a CX 650 E yesterday, been looking for awhile, brought into the UK from Italy (so its a left hand drive) only done 24k miles, and in really nice condition,
just the same as RATs (Gord) bike only in red,
Going for a good run out tomorrow, let you know what its like later.
Cheers Graham :-D

Just to update my last post, Changed the oils and coolant in the CX, before going out for a good run round, also allowed me to check out the brakes and to see if anything is about to fall off
That done it was a pretty awful day to go riding ,but I couldn't wait fo the nice weather(may not get any until spring) so I set off for North Wales through Chester and on to Bala Lake, had to stop to change my gloves,
Getting quite used to the bike by this time, head out to Bangor ,coffee stop etc, Llanddudno and back home ,6 hours and 190 miles,
Thought the bike was fantastic, performance more than enough around the Welsh hills/mountains, and the road holding is as good as any bike i've owned, saddle is really comfortable and could have gone on all day, all in all a very nice bike, wish i'd have bought one when they were new, it would have saved me some money in the long run,
oh yes, mpg about 45, sure it would do more, but it had a lot of gear changes around the mountains, Regards Graham

Sounds like fun.

Can you show us a picture?

How many miles on her?

I find mine a little uncomfortable after a while, not the seat but the riding position.

Maybe I'm a bit too big for it?

Welcome to the (sub) group.

Love that 650 v engine. Very well built, I understand they used the crankshaft from the turbo cx, so it should run forever.
I found the end of the internet

SOORY!!! Should have typedbut I'll have to find out how to put them on the site!!!!
24,000 miles , it's a bit scratched and bashed on the tank and plastic bits but the rest is in great condition, might do a paint job, then I would have to find someone to make the decals.
When I changed the oil filter the PO left out the spring and washer, why would he do that??
Funny though I expected the GL1000 filter to fit  so had to send off for the right one,
Regards Graham

1) Left hand drive? Not a problem.
To convert it to right hand drive you just move the twist grip to the left side, switch the clutch lever perch and the master cylinder and put the brake pedal on where the shift pedal attaches and the shift pedal where the brake normally attaches.
Piece of cake. You should be done in just a few minutes ;-)

2) When these bikes were made Honda used 2 similar looking oil filters, one for all 2 cylinder models and a slightly larger one for all 4 cylinder models.

The washers tend to stick to the old filter when it is removed and a lot of them have been thrown out that way over the years. When the washer isn't there the spring can push through the grommet in the end of the filter and then it ends up thrown out with that filter at the next oil change.

The spring & washer are very important. Make sure you replace them before you run the engine as the filter might not be in the right place and may not be able to do it's job.

3) The easiest way to post pics on most forums is to set up an album at Photobucket, coppermine or any similar hosting site, then link to the pic in the field you type in.
For Photobucket (the one I use), when you are in the album view, mouse over the pic you want to show and a dropdown menu will appear. If you click IMG Code the address of the pic will be stored in your clipboard.

Here is a pic of my (slightly modified) CX650E that I posted as described.

Actually, mine's an '84.

Is that the original colour? All of the ones I have seen (or seen pics of) were either black or white.

I really wanted an E, but when i found out Honda would not sell them in the US, I decided not to buy a Honda after selling my 82 magna. Of course, unless it was previously owned, and a goldwing and and

They came in "Black" (Color code: NH 1), "Pearlwhite" (NH-121P-A) and "Candyalammoanared" (R-124-CU).
