Andrew at Classic

Post by randakk »

I just learned some sad news.

Andrew M. Weisberg of La Pine, OR (and formerly Grapevine, TX) aka "Andrew at Classic" passed away unexpectedly on April 6th.

Andrew was the owner of Classic Cycle Parts and was in the process of forming a new company: Cycle Carbs: http://www.cyclecarbs.com/

Here's a link to the obituary:

http://www.bendhomes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ ... ory=NEWS05

I just learned this from Andrew's web developer, but don't have many other details.

As many of you know, Andrew and I "crossed swords" a few times on several Forums in some high-spirited "debates." Contrary to what you might expect, I was pretty fond of Andrew.

Andrew was a very smart guy with an unusual sense of humor and a generous nature. I will certainly miss sparring with him and the very entertaining private emails he sent me on a regular basis. Andrew certainly had a wry sense of "fun and games."

For example, the last communication I had from Andrew was several "April's Fools Day" emails in which he indicated that he planned to steal intellectual property from me. He told me he was going to use my content to build out his new website and produce a series of repair booklets. I knew he was only kidding and got a real chuckle out of that!

My prayers and condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

Finally, if a Memorial Fund exists or gets established ...please let me know. I would be happy to spread that word.

Sad news indeed. When I looked at the Obituatry, it scared me a bit. He was only a couple of months older than me. Just shows you that you need to enjoy life while you are here.

Wow! What a shock. Andrew was a very generous guy that helped out literally hundreds of guys with parts. His usual fee was a small donation to the Doberman rescue effort as I recall.

I am very sorry to hear of this. If anyone is in contact with his Family please pass along all of our condolences. :( :( :( :(

OMG! That is terrible news. Andrew was really fun and liked to work on creative ideas. What a bummer. It will be a sad day when I must remove his emails from my inbox.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

A sad day indeed.

Andrew was always there with that li'l (or big) part or service that someone needed to get 'er going. And he loved the dobermans and the bikes.

He'll be missed.

Sad news.
Andrew offered many times to help out others while expecting very little if anything in return.

A generous and kind gentleman that will be missed.
