Brake Caliper Bolts

Fastenal, Inc. http://fastenal.com is a good source for metric zinc plated and stainless steel fasteners used on our bikes.

I'm in the process of refurbishing the brakes on my '77 and found the brake caliper socket head cap screws badly corroded. My local Honda dealer values them mightily @ $10 each! Ouch!

The socket head cap screws are a little odd in that they are 1.25mm pitch (fine), not the more common 1.5mm (course) variety and are 45mm in length under the head.

Fastenal has part number 0142073 which is a 10mm x 1.25 x 40mm zinc plated socket head cap screw at $1.44 each. Although they are 5mm short of the original, I found that there is more than enough thread to secure properly. A two day order delivered them to my local Fastenal dealer.

[edit] I checked the thread depth on the female side of the caliper and the Fastenal Part 0142074 which is 50mm thread length should work fine also.
