Hey everybody. Thought i'd give an update on my build in case anybody's interested.

Started tearing into my stock '83 Interstate last Saturday at 5:30 am.

This is what i started with.

Within 30 min had her naked. dancr

Installed Aztech8 Dual 5 3/4" headlights

Drag bars were a little tight. 28" is almost too small.

Looks like a great start. Yeah, get those bags off there. Blue bags on a maroon bike is way to gaudy. :-)

Those exhaust pipes look to be in pretty good condition. I removed mine because of rust and breakage at the header/muffler connection. Put on a set of H-D sporty's. But I wish I'd saved the H-mufflers anyway.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Over the past few weeks i have removed the ugly blue bags and chopped the exhaust.

The front end of the bike is just about how i want it. Need to get shorter lines and cables.
Image

Now the back end is another story. Need to make a new smaller seat, figure out what to do about the taillight, and remove the rear fender
Image

Piece of crap Chinese taillight. I like the look of the cat eye but still not sure.
Image

I plan to daily ride the bike during the summers so i wanted something with alittle more volume. I was actually planning to do a real custom exhaust but i decided to give the sawzall a try. Worked pretty good and only sorta looks like crap. I think it matches the rest of the bike. But it sounds AWESOME!!! Never thought a Goldwing could sound that good. Still gotta wrap the headers.
Image

For now im just planning to rock this bike "as is" for a bit. Unfortunately, the riding season is almost over for this bike. Getting alittle chilly at 2am. So my focus has to shift back to the bmw to get it ready for the winter riding season. Still have some small updates but ill save them for later.

Hopefully this winter will allow me to do some work on it though. Paint, seat, and cables/controls/lines sorted out.

Thanks guys

Gents;
1200's have brick-like cam covers and a 16" front wheel.
