Wow! LLEH yea, you better post your trip along with few good looking locals.:>) and let me know ahead of time so I can fix a batch of Popcorn.
I know it wont be same as doing it on your GL ,but then again parts are not too plentiful in Europe for the old girls, if you should need them.I just hope you don't end up being spoiled by the rental ,which probably be a New Beemer.
Have fun .

Naw. No Rentals. Kind of a funny story.
When I rode around the Baltic sea 3 years ago a friend living in germany made it possible by buying 5 Yamaha Diversions for everyone to use on the trip. If you can believe that.
Anyhow, 2 of the OTHER guys that went on the trip have since moved to Europe (one of them to be with a girl he met on our trip). So the three guys that now live in Europe have their own bikes now. 3 of the bikes from the orignal trip have since been sold. And one of the guys from the original group can't go. So that leaves 2 of the Yamahas still in Berlin for me and my brother to use. Confused?

I'm not confused. I'm jealous.
Photos will be welcomed even if the girls aren't in them. If the girls are in them then there could be issues with the younger members here. The old guys (not me you understand, but those other old guys) are impervious so post as you will.

Re: Central Europe and the Balkans June 2013
Shouldn't be a problem. There aren't too many beaches on the route but i have heard of and seen some pretty ladies on the side of the roads in some places all dressed up.
We do have four of what many consider to be the best roads in the world on the route though.
Stelvio Pass
San Bernardino Pass
Transfagarason
and one other that i can't remember right now.
The route isn't carved in stone so if anyone has any suggestions i'd love to hear them. Oh, and i forgot to mention that we'll have our lady friends with us for the first week so there is that.

Oh........the other pass is the Oberalp.
Now I'm eager to get riding and we just got a foot of snow today.
Anyone here done any mountiain climbing? Apparently there is a climbing style mostly exclusive to the Alps called Via Ferrata which means "iron road" in Italian. It's basically mountain climbing with "iron" aids such as rebar ish posts, ladders, cables, etc. so you're tied into the route with no need for traditional climbing skills or training.
We're going to do this route near Grindlewald practically on the North Face of the Eiger. Scroll down to the slideshow.
