weber 32dft single carb conversion stuff

#1

Post by 82aspy »

there are many sources and licensed variants of this 2 barrel progressive carb available out there,

holley, weber, carter, motorcraft 740, dfta etc

stovebolt (aka tom's carb) sells brand new for 90 bucks and an ebay seller has 81 ford escort ros (rebuilt old stock) for 50 bucks

seeing that i can edit my posts here, i will be putting all important and relevant info prob in this post

any questions, fire away, i will answer the best i can from what i've looked into so far

i'd like to thank westgl and joedrum for their efforts and info provided on this carb

new (page can be slow to fully load)

These progressive two (2) barrel carburetors are New, not rebuilt, with an electric choke. These carburetors were originally used on a very small (97 cu.in.) engine

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ROS-1981-FORD-ME ... 36&vxp=mtr

westgl is using the stovebolt carb, there are differences in these 2 carbs, i will be going with the 81 escort, before anyone spends money on a empi plenum, be aware that one is an easy mod and i don't have a bottom line on what the full story is yet

is it your intent to again post everything you have posted on the 7 pages of the other post? I think you have stated your experiences with this setup pretty well already. Hard to believe there is anything new to add.

He may have been the author, but you were a major contributor. What is your end game? by starting the new thread rehashing the same stuff you are continuing what was going on on the other thread. Why?

Hey 82aspy,

I want to see another single carb installation.

BS like I just removed will not be tolerated, 82aspy's account was turned off at his request. I see more crap like this from you and your account will be turn off as well.

tried to sort this out with the powers that be, dunno what to say but thread is done for me

not really sure what went down here for westgl either, but i hope turns out to be small potatoes and he sticks around, i find his stuff most informative and often hilarious

what's my end game? i guess "fiddling with single carbs" is an easy google for anyone interested going there,

i don't have any doubt there is great interest in scc elsewhere, kinda thought this place would be totally on top of it and i see that there is a ~ dedicated section for that discussion here no less http://www.ngwclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=47

for me, the 32dft alone has barely been looked at so far

WOW!!!
Did not know people were against more information on an application???
I am looking into doing this and was looking for any and all people that have done this.
Another "rehash", just seems to be an unhappy person shooing this down.
I personally want to see any and all people who have done this, so I can go down this road with as little trouble as possible.

I just bought a 1979 GL1000 and am thinking about the single carb conversion. I rebuilt the stock carbs but due to the age and difficulty of getting parts, I think the single carb is the way to go. Do you have any further info on the EMPI plenum sub and also, where are your carbs sourced from? Westgl used some kind of silicon tube runners on his manifold and was curious where he got those. Any information you can provide, I would appreciate it. shakehands

I think our position is pretty clear. That is why we have a unique carburetion section. Close to locking this thread.
