Yes. Got a Honda 1996, VT1100 V-twin Shadow. Also got a sorta stock Honda 1983 GL650 V-Twin trike. The body is a pick-up bed from the swing arm back...but stock otherwise.

Re: your other bikes?
Nope. My 'Wing is as close to a stock bike as I have had since the 80's. Just can't leave things alone I guess.

Oh wait. It's 20 years old now. Not exactly late model.
...and definitely not stock.

Re: your other bikes?
I got the '96 Wing mostly for the ride.
As said before, it's hardly new but it sure feels that way. I can run over potholes all day and my butt doesn't even notice them.
It's a couch on wheels..... with reverse!

I have a 2008 VFR 800. I love it. It is similar to the wing in that it is known for long lasting service and it is aimed at a a segment of the touring market and different enough to fill a different niche.

I have a CB 1300. After 19 year break got back on the road with this 4 years ago. Got the GL 1100 as a (still on going) project bike. Lot has happened to me in the last 2 years, but things starting to look good again.

That is a beauty. I didn't know Honda made a CB1300. That is a handful I'm sure.chewy999 wrote:I have a CB 1300. After 19 year break got back on the road with this 4 years ago. Re: your other bikes?
Thanks Bert and Robin1731, just before I got it, I had a day's refresher course from a professional instructor, money very well spent. My friends questioned whether it was too powerful to get back on two wheels, but although I like speed when it's dry and straightish, I'm at an age where I know I'll never be a racer, and also in my job as a fire fighter, seen the consequences of the idiots on the road, bikers and drivers, and at the end of the day it just depends how hard you twist your right wrist. It is also easy to ride and very forgiving. We can't get them naked anymore, but there is a version with a fairing on, about £12000! When I got it 4 years ago, there were only 8 left in the country to buy new. Love it, and love the fact that Jo likes going on the back! Went to see my sister in France, and at one point got up to 130mph. Thought that was fast enough so slowed down and pulled over and about four seconds later, a Merc went roaring by!!Bert wrote:That is a beauty. I didn't know Honda made a CB1300. Closest to late model is my 96 VT600 VLX Shadow. Nice short hop bike and between 50+ mpg all day long. Good for the daily 60 mile round trip to work.

Re: your other bikes?
Got what is left of a 1987 Kawasaki Concours. When I got it, it did not look anything like it does now. PO did all kinds of stupid stuff to it and I was able to undo it all. Now it looks and rides like it was designed. Bought my current project, a 1981 GL1100i to restore and ride. I really like the GL because it is smoother running and not so high strung. I will post my rebuild as soon as I can get my pictures and narrative together. SOON, I hope.
