Hello fellow goldwingers Back at again with my 1975 Cafe Racer. This time its the paint only just began over the past couple days so I'll keep you guys updated as I go through.
I've got some cool silver Cafe Racer Style Vinal numbers for the side covers and lots of Goldwing decals also. Pastel blue is the colour for all the panels.

Getting tired of leaning over the deep sink in the garage sanding only to find places the glazing compound came out of. Using 500 grit and a hard rubber sanding block. Decided to try Duplicolor Filler in hopes that it builds a lot faster than their sandable primer. These shelter sides have numerous scratches and pits but no cracks. Looks like they've had a rough life.

I'm starting to prep some false tank shelter sides for my 78.
Cautionary note on stickers:
I did some panels a few years back and put some vinyl stickers on them but it has always bugged me that the even though the stickers/decals were black on the face the edges were not. It isn't that noticeable unless you are looking right at it. The only thing I can think of was I working in poorly lit garage or I was so focused on getting it done I didn't see it. I don't know how that got past me. If I had known, I would have tried to black them out with a sharpie or somesuch.
So now that I'm getting these new panels prepped we are in the middle of a respiratory crisis. I need some 3m 60001 cartridges for my respirator. Everywhere I looked on line - "out of stock". That might be the case for a loooooong time.
Spraying outta a reg. bomb can might not be that dangerous, but spraying a 2k clear or paint with isocyanates is courting another type of respiratory issue. After 40 yrs of construction my tolerance for dust and chemicals is next to zero. I can wait till I get some fresh cartridges.
