19 years ago when Beth's father passed we brought into out life "Henry" (named for her dad)
he could purr like crazy
and could shed fur!
He is 19, the oldest cat we have had
He was been "dwindling" which was all the more apparent the two weeks we were gone (had a cat sitter)
Tomorrow he goes to the vet
and it breaks my heart
to say goodbye to a buddy

yes, Beth and both knew last night that was what we needed to do, she is up in VA with him and was able to hold and pet him, the last couple of pictures (the one above is a couple months old) it was very clear....

:( Awww, man...I am so sorry for your loss. It's like losing a family member, I know. I lost my cat Captain in 2014, after a health struggle. Captain was a Great cat. A black Bombay; he sat about 18" tall, weighed about 22 lbs and looked like a panther. Very gentle though unless a dog or another cat walked through the yard, then he'd take off after it like a missile! I called him Captain 'cause he just showed up one day right after I bought my house in 2005 and acted like he owned the place ;)

I still miss him to this day, although me and my wife swear we've seen him in and around the house occasionally. I even felt him jump up on the bed and snuggle up next to me one night like he used to; I put out my hand to pet him, and of course he wasn't there, but it didn't freak me out at all, just made me miss him all the more.
DSCN0647.JPG
And then this guy showed up in 2016; 'Sebastian' (my wife named him that - not like he responds to that!) is a Tuxedo kitty/shop manager/eating machine, that ever since he discovered I have a thumb and can open cans follows me around like a dog! He's a good boy though.

Sorry for your loss, it was good that Beth was able to be there with him, that’s always a hard decision to make. I feel your pain, ours, “Kitt Kat” passed away this summer. I still think I see her out of the corner of my eye sometimes. They are family.

Good Day Folks;
It is always sad to lose a pet. We have has several cats that went out one night and never returned. That is why I do not want one any more. That and the fact that my riding buddy Ian is deathly allergic to them. So we do without.
